Every public school teachers says the same thing, and every public school teacher saying it is wrong. We can and put be able to educate children with or without parental support, and if you cannot, then get out of the classroom. We should not be saying the same thing. We should not be speaking as if we have been programmed with a specific position of thought. Children do not fail, teachers fail children. Teachers fail children because colleges and universities have failed teachers. College and universities fail because state legislators, responsible for curriculum and instructions in teacher preparation are not doing the job intended. We are all responsible, and it is time to stop, someone has to be the adult in the room and stop the blame. There are many children living in foster home, shelters, with grandmothers or other relatives, or just slleping in some hole in some place we know nothing about, they show up each day in our classrooms with their secrets, we are obligated to teach these children and not add to their secret pain. Some children have to be their own parent, and find the mother and father within themselves and survive in silence, we owe it to them to teach.

We are all responsible for our educational system.

Teachers Parents

Overstressed parents often say and do cruel things to their children making them angry and difficult to teach.

Community

Some communities permit inferior instructional delivery systems in the schools that their children attend and will sometimes fight against the closing of those schools.

Colleges

Some college teacher preparation programs do not encourage course content, which could help a teacher to be job ready for their assignment, leaving the responsibility up to school principals and compassionate coworkers. Some of the content of the teacher preparation courses focuses on political and sociological theories of the 19th and 20th century.

Legislature

Politicians and government officials responsible for curriculum content, will not review or look to change the way schools prepare teachers to teach? Education departments in some colleges are considered sacred cash cows and protect themselves from changes.

School Administrators

Some school administrators because of their resentment of the role the colleges have played in the preparation of new teachers, often take out their anger and frustration on teachers. Some resent getting new teachers job ready, and some feel that it is not their moral obligation to help new teachers adjust to new assignments. Some will not take new teachers instead sending them off to school serving minority students to get their training. Those teachers who are able to survive the training ordeal, which usually last about three years, usually transfer to less challenging schools in more affluent neighborhood. Twenty to thirty percent of new teachers do not make it electing instead to leave the profession is frustration and despair.

Churches

Churches have dropped the ball in being intentionally responsive to the social injustice occurring in the lives of its members. They take a “hands off” approach to the role the school plays in the future direction of the lives of citizens. They will visit members once they are in prison, but will not become involved in preventing members from going to prison by making sure the schools track them into college.

Teachers

Teachers need to find and add the educational variable of spirituality to their preparation process. Spirituality provides the foundation for effective teaching and provides the inner strength and faith to be the hands of God in fostering intellectual development in all children.
